Accountant Full-time Job

Macquarie Travelworld is the largest IATA approved travel agency in Fiji and has over 60 years’ experience in the travel industry providing travel management services for both corporate and leisure markets. Macquarie sales offices are located in Suva, Nadi and Labasa.

We are currently looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Accountant to join our Finance team in Lami.

Key Responsibilities:

The primary objective of the role is to provide an efficient and reliable service for finance matters for the Finance Department and will include but not be limited to the following:-

•  Ensure timely month-end and annual account closing and reconciliations
• Manage accounts payable and receivable process and general ledger functions
• Ensure the accounting system accurately and efficiently captures and reports financial transactions
• Provide timely and accurate statutory management reports including supporting budget and forecast activities
• Maintain compliance with all statutory reporting requirements
• Assist in the month end close of the general ledger reconciliation
• Assist the Finance Manager in ensuring the administration and enhancement of internal control procedures to protect the Company’s assets
• Mentor, coach and manage your direct reports as well as other members of the wider team

Qualification:

• Degree in Accounting/Finance from a recognized institution
• Minimum 3-4 years’ experience as an accountant or similar role
• Proven knowledge of accounts receivable and payable, payroll and budgeting
• Experience with financial reporting requirements and general ledger functions
• Strong attention to detail and good analytical and problem-solving skills
• A team player and be able to assist team members as and when required
• A commitment to strong business ethics and personal integrity
• Exceptional communication and leadership skills
