What is the job? 

The Engineering Store Person under the general direction of the Director of Engineering, and within the limits of established resort’s policies and procedures, ensures that the department’s administrative functions in relation to purchasing, financial accountability & stores inventory routine are carried out to the highest standards.

Your Day to Day:

We are looking for enthusiastic and professional team players who know how to deliver great service and exceed guest expectations. Ideally you will:

  • Ensure all merchandise are stored under optimal conditions and are ready for issuing.

  • Ensure the stores are kept well maintained and stock is in a neat, tidy & logical order.

  • Verify quantities of arriving materials destined for store room, signs for same on receiving.     

  • Maintain merchandises bin labels identifying, item’s code, number, name, issue unit and minimum and maximum stock levels.

  • Ensure that all issues from stores after hours by the evening & night shift have been properly logged in the sign out sheet and that these items are entered into MC within the shift.

  • Log new inventory items and remove obsolete items as & when required.

  • Verify the list of items at re-order point against physical quantities before submitting the list to the Engineering & Maintenance Coordinator.

  • Carry out the physical stock take with oversight by the Finance Department.

  • Offload goods and receive and scanning goods and checking against orders.

  • Inspect goods for damage before official receiving of goods.

  • Move goods around the storage area.

  • Stock shelves and stacking heavy goods safely.

  • Pick goods from shelves and recording their movements.

  • Able to multi-task and ability to handle stressful situations.

  • Supervisory skills and knowledge of all resort & IHG brand policies and procedures.

  • Look smart – wear your uniform with pride.

 

  • What do we need from you
  • Valid driver’s License – Group 2, 6, 8 & 9.

  • Certification in Business Administration and/or equivalent.

  • 2 years of work experience in a similar role at a similar 5-star resort setting.

  • Commitment to work overtime with rotating shifts, weekends and public holidays (at times).

  • Physically fit & healthy.

  • Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft programs.

  • Great communication skills.

  • Outgoing and people oriented.
