The Opportunity

The School of Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Physics is one of the largest schools in the University of the South Pacific and is sufficiently resourced to pursue excellence in teaching and research. The school offers a number of Undergraduate programs which includes the 2 accredited engineering programs (Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Mechanical Engineering), Civil Engineering, Physics, Computer Science//Information Systems and Mathematics. It also offers Post Graduate study programs. The School is now searching for a finance assistant who can join the existing, dynamic team and take the School forward.

The appointee will assist the FAO with the overall responsibilities of the school finance. The appointee will be responsible for the verification, monitoring and reporting of all expenses for the School. The incumbent also provides support to ensure that schools operate within the approved budgets and relevant savings are derived.

The Person we Seek

To be considered for this position, the applicant must have:

  • Completion of a diploma level (accounting/finance or equivalent qualification) with one (1) year of relevant work-related experience
  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training.

The position is available for a term of three years and may be renewed by mutual agreement. 

Salary Range

  •  FJ $18,223.02 to FJ $24,354.06 per annum
