General Manager Full-time Job

Viti Foods Pte Limited is a subsidiary  of CJ Patel Group of Companies and we specialize in manufacturing canned tuna and mackerel products for local and export markets. We are seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced General Manager to be based at our manufacturing plant in Laucala Beach Estate, Suva.

Key Responsibilities:

The General Manager is accountable for the leadership, management and control of all activities within Viti Foods Pte Limited in accordance with the strategic direction of the CJPatel Group. The role also ensures VFPL's commercial viability, product quality, people safety and environmental sustainability. Key accountabilities include:

• Maintain overall organisation responsibility for performing all duties in compliance with related manufacturing legal/statutory regulations, company policy and procedures and applicable standards such as Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Best Practice Guidelines and food safety and QMS certifications.
• Commercial viability of the business ensured through development and implementation of manufacturing and operational strategic plans ensuring business growth, continuos improvement and maximum capacity utilization.
• Meet corporate expectations and goals in terms of profit targets, capital expenditures, cost containment, manufacturing/plant engineering improvements, environmental/health/safety goals, quality enhancements, information technology needs and employee and community good will.
• Preparing and managing the budget and monitoring the financial health of the business unit.
• Responsible for meeting customer expectations in terms of quality, production, and delivery.
• Assure prompt, accurate and complete reporting on all major aspects of plant operations to Executive team.
• Accountable for understanding business manpower needs, ensuring each person is performing all requirements of the job and providing adequate training and development and succession as necessary.

 Position Requirements:

• Degree or relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering or Food or Marine Science from a recognized institution or equivalent with minimum 5 years of managerial experience in a similar capacity.
• Demonstrated strong business management and development exeprience prefereably in Tuna/mackerel or food processing industry with proven ability to manage people.
• Thorough understanding of manufacturing,food safety, business process and management, requirements and dynamics.
• Possess broad commercial and business acumen and be a strategic thinker.
• Possess strong decision making, analytical problem solving, forecasting, budgeting, negotiating and communication skills.
