Purchasing Officer Full-time Job

Industrial and Marine Engineering Pte Limited (IMEL), a division of Carpenters Group of Companies, has an exciting opening for dynamic individuals to join IMEL in the following role based in Walu Bay, Suva.

The successful applicant will be required to ensure that proposals are signed by respective department heads, obtain 3 quotations from companies, obtain approval from company Financial Controller and General Manager to order stock, obtain approval from cost control unit and other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in purchasing role
• Good knowledge of marine & industrial materials
• Good knowledge of vendor sourcing practices (researching, evaluating and liaising with vendors)
• Solid analytical and negotiation skills, with the ability to conduct cost analyses
• Updating and maintaining records of all orders, payments, and received stock
• Ability to work independently and in teams with effective communication skills
• Collaborating with the team to develop purchasing plans and find potential vendors
• Ability to work long and odd hours
• Diploma in Logistics, Business Administration, Management or 
  relevant field 
• Must possess clean and valid driving license.
