Quality Assurance Manager Full-time Job

 Viti Foods Pte Limited is a subsidiary of CJ Patel Group of Companies and we specialize in manufacturing canned tuna and mackerel products for local and export markets. We are seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced Quality Assurance Manager to be based in Laucala Beach Estate, Suva.

Job Responsibilities:

The successful incumbent will be accountable for development and implementation of the company’s quality standards and product specification in order to meet predetermined international standards, Quality Team leadership and management, staff training and development, product quality, product traceability, people safety and environmental sustainability. This position reports to the General Manager and other key responsibilities include:

• Ensuring processes, materials and finished products meet all specified requirements for regulatory and food safety compliance
• Planning, directing and coordinating quality assurance programs and formulating quality control policies, including mock exercises to build preparedness
• Developing quality standards for the organization and scheduling training programs, as well as refresher courses including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety, HACCP, environmental monitoring, traceability and product release procedures
• Overseeing laboratory department and ensuring compliance and precise results
• Working with laboratory technicians to design and improve products and managing research and development of new products
• Providing advice on compliance that requires an interpretation of the laws and regulations
• Managing HACCP and ISO certification including Health license, Chemical registration, Liquid waste permit certification BRC and EU Audits
• Implementing and managing the risk assessment program including active participation in problem solving and quality circle activities
• Establishing clear objectives for multiple work groups /departments empowering and supporting the quality assurance and production team to achieve their objectives and target
• Liaising with external bodies, authorities and consumers for quality related matters as and when required.

 Essential Requirements:

• Degree or relevant tertiary qualification in Biology/Chemistry or Food Science from a recognized institution
• At least 5 years’ experiences as a Quality Assurance Manager or similar capacity in a food processing plant.
• Strong technical skills and working knowledge on HACCP and ISO standards, system certifications, food safety, lab testing and analysis and Quality Assurance
• Exceptional leadership, analytical and people management skills.
• Track record of driving a performance and safety culture
• Ability to work under pressure, showing resilience and the capability to manage competing priorities, whilst working collaboratively with all stakeholders
