Pacific Batteries Pte Limited, is a subsidiary of CJ Patel and Company Pte Limited specialized in Design, Development, Manufacturing, Lead recycle and Marketing of lead-acid Batteries for Automotive, Marine, Deep Cycle, Golf cart, Traction and VRLA (Solar, UPS, Telecom) Application. We are looking for suitable candidate for Safety Health & Environment Officer to be based in our factory in Lami

Job Responsibilities:

This position reports to the General Manager and will be involved in a variety of activities including but not limited to:

  • Ensure workplace safety and environmental compliance are met at all times
  • Responsible for conducting investigations on accidents and incidents that occurred at the premises whilst developing and implementing future improvement plans to eliminate repetition of such accidents/incidents
  • Partnering with HR to identify and manage OHS-related training needs and competency gaps
  • Ensure timely renewal of business license and related compliance certificates
  • Ensure risk assessments are carried out on a timely basis and appropriate mitigation actions are taken accordingly
  • Investigate shortfalls, issues, and complaints in current business processes and develop necessary operational process enhancement strategies
  • Facilitating monthly safety audits and ensuring that corrective action items are closed by the respective department
  • Ensure Quality Circles initiatives are effectively managed
  • Provide management with project status updates, feedback, and appropriate reporting on key responsibilities and objectives
  • Ensure to update and maintain all safety and environment key performance indicators (KPI) and hazard logs

 Key Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role
  • Tertiary qualification in OHS or completion of OHS Modules I-IV
  • An excellent command of English
  • Ability to understand and interpret company policies and procedures
  • Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Able to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing OHS systems and procedures
