Senior Plant Technician Full-time Job

Viti Foods Pte Limited is a subsidiary of CJ Patel Group of Companies and we specialize in manufacturing canned tuna and mackerel products for local and export markets. We are seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced Senior Plant Technician to be based in our Engineering department in Laucala Beach Estate, Suva.

Key Responsibilities:

This position reports to the Plant Manager and will be involved in a variety of activities including but not limited to:

• Ensure efficient operation of seamer machine, data coders, retorts, tuna filling machine, product conveyors, and all other auxiliary equipment.
• Prepare root cause analysis for all breakdowns and recommend preventative actions.
• Complete regular line audits to identify preventative maintenance requirements.
• Prepare required maintenance SOPs for all equipment.
• Carry out inspection to identify repair/replacement needs and communicate to Plant Manager
• Supervise emergency/routine maintenance and ensure the response to equipment downtime is well managed. 

Position Requirements:

• Tertiary qualification in Mechanical/ Plant Engineering
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role in a food manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of steam lines, thermal processing and compressed air systems and double-seamin technology will be an added advantage.
• Time Management skills
• Strong communication, technical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
