Senior Systems Administrator Full-time Job

We are currently seeking an individual for the role of Senior Systems Administrator at our Wailekutu, Lami office.

Key Responsibilities

• Hardware and network infrastructure managed and maintained to ensure services are available and adequate for the needs of the organization
• System performance monitored (servers, software and hardware) and timely upgrades ensured
• Configuration of internal systems, new software and hardware including installation of servers, devices and firewalls
• IT security ensured in relation to operational work, programs, files, disks, backup procedures including host security, file permissions, backup and disaster recovery plans
• Networks, systems and applications troubleshooted and malfunctions and other operational difficulties identified and fixed
• Onsite and remote technical support provided competently including help desk services when required
• Proper management and maintenance of network and hardware inventory.
• Network problems and resolutions documented for future reference including update of technical documentation
• Provide on the job training and guidance to junior staff and IT support officers

Qualification and other Attributes:

• Degree or post-degree qualification in Computer Science or Information Systems with good GPA.
• At least 3 years’ experience as a Senior System Administrator or in a similar capacity
• Experience setting up and managing database systems such as SQL Server
• Solid knowledge of  LAN/WAN configurations including experience with Cisco routers & switches, Internet firewalls, and wireless technology
• Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel
• Knowledge of computer and/or network security systems, applications, procedures, and techniques
