WAREHOUSE OPERATIVE
The Warehouse Operative is an important link in the company supply chain for maintaining standards of delivery to our customers. The purpose of this role is to provide assistance to the Accountant, Inventory & Cost Controller with maintaining accurate records of all inventory movements. The warehouse and stores is location in Nadi.
The Warehouse Operative is responsible for ensuring that goods received into or sent out from the company are accounted for, using the correct paperwork to ensure accurate stocks/records are held and customer deliveries are dispatched accurately.
The Warehouse Operative may be expected to work outside of normal hours in order to meet customer requirements from time-to-time, and must have an enthusiasm for the task in hand and a willingness to work under pressure in order to meet deadlines.
The Warehouse Operative will work in a safe and responsible manner and will wear and use the correct personal protective equipment where and when laid down by the company and will follow company health and safety and environmental procedures and reporting guidelines.
The Warehouse Operative will be expected to help with other work within the Department as and when required.
Requirement
- Possess a current drivers’ license.
- Possess a valid Forklift license.
- Experience in the refrigeration, air conditioning, electrical sector preferable.
- Must have a good knowledge of refrigeration and electrical spare parts.
- Be flexible with your working hours.
- Must be able to communicate effectively.
- Must be able to work as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Manage & keep accurate records of all inwards goods, receiving incoming goods, ensuring all paperwork is correct and goods received are in good order, assisting admin staff to ensure that stocks are accurate; checking for damage and for discrepancies between goods and invoices. Labelling goods with details of storage location.
- Ensure that customer orders are despatched accurately using the appropriate paperwork. Load these orders onto the relevant vehicles in a safe and responsible manner in order to ensure that deliveries are made to the customer on a ‘right first time’ basis; packing and weighing goods and sealing boxes.
- Ensure a FIFO stock rotation system is operated, maintain the stores and warehouse in an orderly condition and store goods in the right location in order to maximise picking and packing efficiency.
- Perform stock checks/ stock counts and report on stock levels.
- Support admin team by carrying out physical stock checks when necessary and maintain a high standard of housekeeping within the warehouse.
- Operate forklift for loading and unloading goods and storing in racks following operator safety checks and correct operation to ensure all goods are stored correctly and safely.
- Undertake any training required that relates to the driving of FLT’s.
- Keep store clean and tidy. Maintain the warehouse and site to a safe and clean standard to ensure ease of availability of stock, keep the site clean and tidy to ensure safe working practices and to allow the site to function efficiently and comply with safety legislation.
- Ensure all tools/gear are cleaned, tested and tagged.
- Prepare orders for materials/consumables as required.
- Ensure Company Vehicles are servicing, registration renewals are done in a timely manner.
- Ensure materials and equipment are ready for upcoming projects.
- Develop a relationship with suppliers and source best price.
